Antonio Ferrante is Full Professor of Horticulture and Floriculture at the University of Milan. He studied Agricultural Sciences at the University of Pisa where he graduated with honors in 1992, was a full-time student and PhD student at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa, earning his title in 2001. He began his academic career as a technician at the University of Pisa in 2001 and from 2004 at the University of Milan first as a university researcher until 2016 and as an associate professor until 2021. He spent several periods abroad at the University of California, Davis, USA (2000) and then three months later at the University of California, San Diego, US. Member of the SOI since 2001, of the International Society of Horticultural Science (ISHS) since 2005, and of the Agricultural Society of Lombardy since 2018. Appointed Academic Correspondent of the Accademia dei Georgogili of Florence. As part of the SOI he was coordinator of the post-harvest working group (2013-2019) and then President of the Horticulture Section (2019-2022). Author of more than 200 publications in scientific and technical journals, most of which indexed in Scopus.
