Francesca Mapelli is associate professor of agricultural and environmental microbiology at the Department of Food, Nutrition and Environment Sciences (DeFENS) of the University of Milan. Her current research interests concern the study of the interactions between bacterial populations in soils and plants, with particular interest to plant growth promoting bacteria and the spread of antibiotic resistance in the agri-food sector.
