Stefano Farris received his PhD in Food and Microbial Biotechnology in 2007. From January 2021 he is Full Professor at the Department of Food Science, Environment and Nutrition (DeFENS) of the University of Milan, where he leads a team engaged in the design and development of new packaging materials and high-performance packaging systems, using different approaches, such as coating technology, nanotechnology and soft chemistry. Stefano Farris’ research focuses on fundamental aspects to provide new practical solutions, especially from renewable sources.
